These birthing suites reimagine pregnancy, delivery and recovery for modern families with private birthing suites. The new suites offer the ability to labor, deliver and recover in the same room as well as two C-section operating rooms and a nursery staffed 24/7 by an expert team, including OB/GYN hospitalists, midwives, board-certified anesthesiologists and neonatologists.

After labor, delivery and recovery, mothers and babies may be transferred to the Mother Baby and Antepartum rooms on the sixth floor. These private rooms are intended for antepartum and postpartum care of moms and their newborns. All mothers will receive spa-like amenities that include essential oils, robes and afternoon tea service.

Hoag Hospital Irvine has dedicated operating rooms for Cesarean deliveries and a special care nursery for newborns needing extra medical attention, both located a few steps from the maternity suites. The nursery is staffed 24/7 by an expert team including OB/GYN hospitalists, certified midwives, board-certified anesthesiologists and neonatologists.

Hoag supports women’s desired birth journey, welcoming certified doulas and nurse midwives at both campuses. At Hoag Hospital Irvine, Hoag works with Orange Coast Women’s Medical Group to offer midwifery services for women who are looking for minimally invasive prenatal care and a unique personal birthing experience. Our certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) are experts in women’s health, providing support during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. Their comprehensive care is dedicated to supporting the normal processes of childbirth to ensure the best possible birthing outcomes for mother and baby.

Women delivering at Hoag Hospital Irvine make extensive use of the Jacuzzi tubs that are in all of our labor rooms for comfort during labor. We also offer birth balls, aroma therapy, visualization and massage techniques for pain relief.

Maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) doctors are experts in high-risk pregnancy, caring for women who have a preexisting health condition, a complication or a problem with the pregnancy itself. Hoag offers two MFM clinics, one in Newport Beach and one in Irvine, as well as a Perinatal Nurse Navigator program to help expecting moms whose complex medical conditions require special care, planning and services in advance of delivery.
