The maternity suites at Hoag Hospital Irvine are an extension of the world-renowned maternity services at Hoag’s Newport Beach campus. As the leading provider of maternity services in Orange County and second largest in California, Hoag is uniquely positioned to reimagine the experience of pregnancy, delivery, recovery, and postpartum for modern families.

Family-centered Care

Every maternity suite is private and especially designed for family-centered care.

Thanks to the generosity of Orange County philanthropist Gary Fudge, and other visionary philanthropic donors, the Fudge Family Birthing Suites offer the ability for moms to experience labor, delivery and their first precious moments with their newborns. The design of the space takes advantage of its ground-floor location to include a private, lushly landscaped outdoor walking garden to serve as a calming influence on expectant mothers.

After labor, delivery and recovery, mothers and babies may be transferred to the Mother Baby & Antepartum Suites on the sixth floor. These private rooms are intended for antepartum and postpartum care of moms and their newborns. All mothers will receive spa-like amenities that include essential oils, robes and afternoon tea service.

Expert Care

Hoag Hospital Irvine has dedicated operating rooms for Cesarean deliveries and a special care nursery for newborns needing extra medical attention, both located a few steps from the maternity suites. The nursery is staffed 24/7 by an expert team including OB/GYN hospitalists, certified nurse midwives and board-certified anesthesiologists and neonatologists.

Hoag NurtureVR Virtual Reality Program

Hoag has taken pre- and postnatal support to a whole new level by partnering with BehaVR to co-develop NurtureVR, the first-ever virtual reality (VR) educational program for expecting and new moms.
